The Maldives

I have just returned from a weeks scuba diving holiday in the Maldives and above is album of images from that week. The trip wasn’t primarily a photography trip and honestly due to the tiredness from the diving I was in the best of states to use opportunities to the best effects.

However, I do feel the that this images while nice are just a little nondescript, combined with the rather disappointing show for assignment one (see the following post for tutor feedback) I am feeling a loss of mojo.

There is little focus to the images, there are some technical errors eg too slow shutter speed in a couple of images. Even the time of day that the images were taken wasn’t great but this was kind of forced on me. I was there is a simple camera set up of a Canon 5D3 with 50mm f1.4 lens, also a personal favourite although I was unable to find an essence of the places I walked.

These are the types of image I have been taking since I moved to Asia however, I seem to have lost my ability to get close with the camera to my subjects. They are neither travel shot nor street photography. I think I need to find an area i know well but not too well and shoot it with comfort to rebuild by abilities.
