Money & Time

It is often said that time is money, but how does that represent in reality? An incident recently at work involved colleagues using their CPR training in a real situation. That incident highlighted fleeting time that life is, and I started to think in the money-obsessed culture that Thailand is there a value to time and life.

The words “one thousand” are used to space seconds in CPR, so does 1000Bht represent one second? Can you buy a minute extra for 60,000bht in Thailand? So why does a day’s work look like 570bht and a month a handful of bills with a few bits of change left over and after a year there is not much more?

Even though some people exchange short and long amounts of their time for a handful of baht nothing can, in the end, nothing buy more time. Time can maybe give you money, but monet con not buy you time.
